welcome

Welcome to the website of Armbrae Academy. An independent, university preparatory, co-educational, non-denominational day school from Preschool to Grade 12, Armbrae is accredited by CAIS (Canadian Accredited Independent Schools), the first and one of only two independent schools in Nova Scotia that is. Armbrae is a not-for profit school with CRA Charitable status and it is governed by an arm's-length Board.

We hope this website will provide you with the information you are looking for. We also hope it will give you some sense of who and what we are. Nonetheless, neither this site nor our prospectus or other print material is able to convey what being a student at Armbrae is really like on a day to day basis. So, we encourage you and your child to visit the school and discuss with us how your child and Armbrae might be a good match.

2012 John Stone Award
Armbrae Academy is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2012 John Stone Award. The award was established in 2010 to recognize the qualities of humanity, empathy, ethics, respect for the dignity of others and/or service to others. Students apply for the award by presenting a case for a humanitarian leadership opportunity. This could be through an existing organization, or a project of their own design. This year's winner is Stephanie Robertson-Kempton, a Grade 11 student who feels passionately about supporting the Cambodia Arts and Scholarship Foundation. Stephanie's project will aid in the education of girls and young women who are typically excluded from educational opportunities.
