giving

The Development Office is the hub of Armbrae's Fundraising activities.

In 2001, the school established the Development Office with the desire to “deepen the interconnections between all elements of the Armbrae Community”. The role of the Director of Development is multi-fold – to help develop those “interconnections” within our community of parents, alumni, family and friends through communications and special events and to raise funds through fund raising events and fund raising campaigns to support this community’s school.

With these objectives in mind, the Development Office holds numerous special events: – a golf tournament, a wine tasting & wine auction, an alumni reunion, and a Dinner/Dance formal evening of fun with both a Live & Silent Auction. The Office is currently planning the Distinguished Alumni Event and Grandparents' Day.

The Development Office seeks to support our school through other fund raising initiatives as well. In the spring of 2005, the school transitioned from a Capital Campaign to Annual Giving. The Board is continuing the goal of improving our physical facilities and previous donations to the Capital Campaign and future contributions to the Building Fund will be used for that purpose. Annual Giving will continue to support this goal and more by enabling donors to contribute to one of the many domains that make an Armbrae Education – the arts, the sciences, and athletics.

2012 John Stone Award
Armbrae Academy is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2012 John Stone Award. The award was established in 2010 to recognize the qualities of humanity, empathy, ethics, respect for the dignity of others and/or service to others. Students apply for the award by presenting a case for a humanitarian leadership opportunity. This could be through an existing organization, or a project of their own design. This year's winner is Stephanie Robertson-Kempton, a Grade 11 student who feels passionately about supporting the Cambodia Arts and Scholarship Foundation. Stephanie's project will aid in the education of girls and young women who are typically excluded from educational opportunities.
